DELTA performing well despite difficult economic situation

DELTA's figures for 2011 are good, despite the stagnating economy. The net result for the past year is close to €83m, while revenue grew by around 5% to €2.2 billion. The operating result from the energy segment is significantly lower than in 2010, due to falling electricity prices and rising fuel costs. On the other hand the operating results in the waste and network segments were much improved.

Standard & Poor's (S&P) have raised the credit rating of the Zeeland multi-utility company DELTA from BBB to BBB+. This independent credit assessor also states that the outlook for this rating is 'stable'.

DELTA’s core activities are performing well; negative result due to solar

DELTA was able to continue its recovery in profits in 2010, in spite of the poor economic climate. The core activities of DELTA - network management, energy and waste processing - performed well and realised a net result of €87 million. As was announced in November 2010, DELTA has decided to withdraw from manufacturing solar cells and to fully write off its subsidiary Solland. This resulted in a net loss of €178 million.

DELTA half-year results: operating profit in line with expectations

DELTA's revenue for the first half of 2010 came to €1.1 billion, an increase of 10% on the comparable period of last year. The higher revenue in combination with lower costs lifted the operating profit by 29% to €38.7 million. The lower costs were the outcome of measures already taken to cut outgoings. Possible impairment losses in the second half of the year, however, may have a negative impact on the result for the whole of 2010.

DELTA reports lower profit due to severe slowdown in renewable energy sales

In the first six months of 2009, DELTA N.V. made a net profit of EUR 43.3m, down 28% on the same period in 2008 (EUR 60.5m). The decline was due mainly to a severe slowdown in the renewable energy market (solar energy and bio diesel).

DELTA and Scheuten signed last Tuesday 21th of july a letter of intent which they propose finalising officially on 1 October 2009. The parties operate in different areas of the solar energy industry and intend to establish a joint venture to combine those activities. DELTA launches procedure to apply for permit for 2nd nuclear power station

DELTA will today launch the procedure that will eventually lead to the application for a permit to build a second nuclear power station near the existing one at Borssele. The site has been specifically earmarked for this purpose. The procedure will be set in motion by the submission of a start-up memorandum to the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment. The nuclear power plant is expected to be operational in 2018.

DELTA has announced that it is taking steps against Essent regarding the transfer of nuclear power shares

DELTA is sending letters today to Essent and RWE to make clear its objections to the legal construction that they have proposed for the Borssele nuclear power plant. In the letters, DELTA announces that it is taking legal steps to prevent a bogus construction being drawn up around EPZ as a result of the proposed takeover of Essent by RWE.

DELTA maintains its solid position

Net profits over 2008 were €101 million, €14 million less than in 2007. If the incidental effects in 2007 and 2008 are disregarded (a net effect of €30 million), the result was improved by €16 million. The key effects were: a reduction in the value of the trading portfolio and a write-down of the EPZ investments in Landsbanki. Over the course of the year, the contribution to the net result from regulated activities fell by €13 million.

DELTA acquires full control of Sunergy

Sunergy will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of DELTA. DELTA is to acquire the share interest currently held by co-owner S'Energy. DELTA and S’Energy have reached agreement on the share transfer, which is completed on the 4th of March of 2009.
